Vice President, Development asset management
Darien Wright is a Vice President with Marriott International in their Asset Management and Analysis group. In this role, he works with hotel owners and partners with development, regional operations and corporate teams to resolve pre-opening issues, negotiate agreement changes and manage risks of new hotel projects in the U.S. and Latin America. He also collaborates with property teams to identify profitable growth strategies for the company’s owned and leased assets. Previously, he served as a business partner to Investor Relations, Treasury, M&A, Development, and Asset Management. Wright joined Marriott in 2006 as a member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, which served as the primary corporate finance resource for the CFO to evaluate financial management issues.
Prior to joining Marriott, Wright held positions in both Operations Finance and Treasury at Sprint Nextel Corporation, and worked as a management consultant for Accenture. His professional career began over 20 years ago with Coopers & Lybrand, where he managed audit engagements and later conducted due diligence reviews on behalf of leveraged buy-out firms and strategic buyers for potential acquisitions.
Wright is a graduate of Binghamton University in New York and earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Trustee of the Woods Academy, a Montessori pre-school through 8th grade independent day school, and is also a certified public accountant. Darien resides in Maryland with his wife and two children.
